For the yet-to-be-certified set, the PADI open-water certification course puts divers through scuba’s paces with a combination of online and in-class instruction, practice dives at a heated pool, and certification dives at a local, private lake. The course includes all diving gear and equipment, though customers are responsible for required classroom materials, personal gear such as a mask, fins, snorkel, and booties, certification card, and lake user fee not included in the Groupon. The PADI enriched-air (Nitrox) diving certification course is geared toward certified scuba divers. The class teaches pupils to use air nitrox, allowing them to safely stay below the water’s surface for longer. Students learn to analyze cylinder contents and plan enriched-air dives via computerized technology during the session, which includes classroom materials.
The adventure-diver certification course includes all dives covered in the PADI advanced open-water course, with the exception of the deep dive. Click here to view more information and schedules.
The rescue-diver certification course includes classroom and pool sessions covering basic safety and emergency procedures, as well as open-water certification dives during which students complete five rescue scenarios. Click here for more information and schedules.
Coral Key Scuba and Travel Center
Diving for more than 30 years, Ron Busch—PADI master instructor and owner of Coral Key Scuba and Travel Center—first decided to share his passion for underwater exploration in 1995 by building a facility that catered to all facets of scuba and snorkeling. Since its construction, the center has been recognized as a PADI five-star training center that offers scuba and snorkeling classes, professional gear, and diving trips to far-off locales such as Indonesia.
An avid traveler, Busch entrusts day-to-day duties to the center's manager, Randy Partch, a PADI master scuba diver and trainer who teaches 16 different diving specialties and boasts certification to repair and service many different brands of scuba equipment and one kind of Xerox machine.
