A family recipe is usually a closely guarded secret, unlike the recipe for starting a family, which everyone knows involves purchasing a marriage license from a stork. Dine dynastically with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $15 for $30 worth of Italian fare for two or three during dinner
  • $30 for $60 worth of Italian fare for four or more during dinner
  • $5 for $10 worth of Italian fare during happy lunch

The dinner menu includes chicken penne sweetened with mango ($17.95); wild-mushroom risotto with scallops, mussels, and tiger prawns ($26.95); and ravioli stuffed with roasted butternut squash ($16.95). Happy lunch pulls from the happy-hour menu, where diners choose entrees such as tortellini in a smoked-paprika cream sauce ($4).

Girardi's Osteria

Chef Bruno Girardi knows his way around the globe almost as well as he knows his way around the kitchen: born in France, he studied academics in Africa and Argentina before gleaning a culinary education in Italy from his father, eventually toting his family's Milanese recipes to Girardi's Osteria. His lunch and dinner menus there speak mostly Italian—pastas tossed with roma tomatoes and marsala-soaked meats—but diners can detect French accents, such as dijon-glazed carpaccio and paninis made with baguette bread. Martinis and more than 70 wines cleanse palates between bites, and desserts and digestifs signal the denouement of meals more appropriately than having an orchestra play diners off after 45 seconds of conversation.

I have never been disappointed by the fine food, the welcome, and the feeling that you can stay at your table as long as you like
