I haven't received my pictures yet...but Jody was very patient with my 3 kids, the youngest who wasn't very cooperative and I'm hoping we got something good out of our time with him! I did all contact through email, and called him right before my appointment time because I was lost and we were actually able to follow him to the shooting location! All in all it was a good experience.

Thanks to the advent of photography, a one-hour portrait session can produce hundreds of images, whereas in the 18th century, a one-hour portrait session resulted in one finely painted earlobe. Capture all of your features with today’s Groupon: for $59, you get a one-hour portrait session (a $100 value) and an 11"x14" print (a $100 value) from J. Herndon Photography (a $200 total value).

Savvy snapshooter Jody Herndon takes an organic approach to portrait photography, capturing individuals and their personalities in relaxed environments. The one-hour session welcomes individuals or groups of any size, accommodating newborns, families, engaged couples, or graffiti artists-for-hire hoping to nab more professional headshots. Clients choose a site for soul-stealing shoots (no travel radius or charges) that best represents their personality, such as a home, nearby park, or gritty back alley.

After cherished memories have been stunned and restrained, subjects view their immortalized incarnations on a personal proofing website. From the selected 50 or more photos posted, Herndon turns one favorite into an 11"x14" print, ideal for hanging above the mantel or placing inside a giant wallet.

About J. Herndon Photography

Jody Herndon believes that portraits should reveal as much about their photographer as they do their subjects. Whether he's photographing kids, families, or former President Bill Clinton, he approaches each session as a collaboration—a chance to capture his subjects' personalities in their favorite environments, free of contrived poses. He takes a similar approach to shooting wedding days, as he unobtrusively documents each element of the events, from the bride anxiously preparing for the ceremony to the DJ singing the traditional one-hour-long wedding sea shanty. Once his sessions wrap up, Jody preserves his color and black-and-white shots with products including high-quality prints, albums, and high-resolution CDs and DVDs.

Horrible customer service. I could never get in touch with anyone in the business; the voicemail was usually too full to leave a message. It usually took days or weeks for the photographer to finally respond to my emails and I sometimes did not get a response at all. After 7 weeks of waiting to look at the pictures (I was told it would take ~2-3 weeks) I had to go to photographer's house to get a cd of the pics out of his mailbox. I never got to review the pictures with photographer and the end result was poor quality. I got 3 decent pictures out of ~20. I still have yet to receive my framed picture, which was part of the deal and it's been 10 weeks.
