Love this Zumba class even though it was my 1st time to attend, I felt welcome. Janice, our zumba instructor is friendly & supportive. She says to me, you pick up the dance steps easily, you must not be new to zumba altho you are new in my class. It's actually been almost 3 years since my last Zumba class since I became a Granma & am just getting back to it.

About Zumba Contra Costa

Janice Litvin has spent her whole life dancing. She trained with Michael Peters, the director of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Beat It" videos. She also studied dance with Patsy Swayze—Patrick Swayze's mom, who taught a variety of dance styles.

For the past nine years, Janice has been teaching dance fitness classes as the mobile instructor behind Zumba Contra Costa. Her résumé bears five certifications: four for Zumba and one for group exercise from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Both her knowledge and her star-studded past caught the attention of Z-Life magazine, a quarterly Zumba Fitness publication, and landed her a spot on its cover. She fell for Zumba because it feels more like a dance party than a workout. By blending international styles of music and dance ranging from salsa to belly dance, she helps her students burn calories while having fun.
