Over the last 30-plus years, Whitewater Adventures has built a name as one of the most-reputable and fun rafting outfits in the Bay area. The company anchors its offerings with one- and two-day rafting trips on the Upper Cache Creek class III rapids. Read on to see where their adventures will take you:
On this trip, you'll explore a volcanic canyon on the Upper Cache Creek that's only accessible by water. You'll travel about 8 miles altogether, passing untamed wilderness, towering canyons, and serene meadows along the way. The swift, sun-splashed currents will eventually lead you back to shore, where you'll enjoy a riverside picnic lunch.
Wildlife is more prevalent on this trip, during which you might spot bears, elk, bald eagles, and wild boars. As you thunder past canyon walls—carved millions of years ago by molten lava—you will venture into rapids known as "The Widow Maker," "Mario Andretti," and more. At the end of the first day, you'll regroup at the campsite, where you'll have the chance to explore, play sports, swim, and enjoy dinner amid the flickering flames of tiki torches. The next morning, you'll refuel with a hot breakfast before hopping into your raft, shouting mush!, and embarking on another adventure.
