Chris Harrison looked around at the people he knew and loved, and he didn't like the unhealthy bodies and lifestyles he saw. So, he made it his mission to reach out to as many people as possible and help them change. That was 10 years ago. Today, Chris still runs CrossFit 3816, having expanded his focus from his peers to families and clients of all ages. He goes out of his way to help moms, dads, and even children find a workout they can do together. The best part of his job is interacting with and motivating people from every walk of life, people of all body shapes and sizes. "[I'm] able to pull their best out of them," Chris says. "I always tell them, 'You're stronger than you think you are!'"
Getting in shape isn't simply a goal to be reached and checked off. Instead, it's a lifetime commitment to fitness and healthy living. CrossFit Level 1 trainer Chuck Weaver believes it’s the kind of commitment that anyone can make, provided that they have a willing spirit and deep reserves of determination. In 2010, he designed his own CrossFit program by drawing upon his 10 years of experience in the U.S. military and over 20 years in personal training, and strength and conditioning.. Along with strength and conditioning classes, the scalable CrossFit workouts accommodate patrons of virtually any age and fitness level, incorporating a variety of exercises intended to increase flexibility, bolster cardiac health, build muscle tone, and improve speed and agility. This well-rounded approach to fitness empowers people as they heft weights, swing kettlebells, and jog laps around the gym’s on-site black hole. With each class, visitors learn a little more about the habits and mindset required to live healthier and more physically fit lives.

Q&A with Cortney, Coach
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We encourage our clients to make small goals related to a skill learned and applied through classes.
These skills develop quickly and are measurable results that you are getting better, stronger, and faster, without staying focused on a number on a scale.
Having small goals to focus on and be excited about will make the process of achieving your ultimate weight-loss goal much more fun.
Do you believe in the maxim, "No pain, no gain”? Why or why not?
We believe in getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.
We don't want anyone getting injured.
We want everyone to love and enjoy working out.
However, you have to push through your comfort zone.
You have to tell the little voice in your head that keeps telling you to give up that you're not stopping today.
That you can push through discomfort and that is when changes happen.
However, discomfort and injury are very different feelings.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Classes are for all levels of fitness and all ages.
Don't be intimidated from what you've seen on TV or read online.
We can adjust all workouts to fit anyone's fitness level.
We want you to enjoy it and we want you to come back.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We combine unique foam rolling, myofascial massage techniques tied in with novel static & dynamic stretching methods that are guaranteed to enable our clients to reduce pain associated from muscle tension, knots &
strains. We help with recovery & flexibility to enable our clients to feel amazing.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
I am a very patient stretch therapy coach. My methods are specific but I am willing to teach my clients how to modify their stretch routines according to their limitations. Motivation comes from the energy,
music, tempo, techniques and results I show every single client.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
My motivation to begin foam rolling inspired Stretch Therapy is simply because I have many muscle, lower back and joint problems. Over the years I have been developing this program for myself I decided to create a training program that could help others that needed to feel relief from daily pain.
What do you love most about your job?
The greatest thing about being a Stretch Therapy coach is seeing my clients improvement throughout the weekly sessions. But most importantly I love seeing them smile as their either begin or end their day.
