Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
Our programming focuses on real fitness for real bodies so that everybody can be successful in their weight loss, health and fitness goals.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
CFER was founded by two women, one a professional athlete and the other a university educated in kinesiology. Both are driven to maintain their fitness in and encourage fitness in their community.
What do you love most about your job?
During the first year of our business we loved seeing our clients meeting their goals of losing hundreds of pounds collectively, and, increasing their strength in their gymnastic abilities.
My Gym children's fitness center, which currently has more than 325 international locations, began more than 31 years ago as a structured place for children to safely play, acquire new skills, and romp around. This dedication to imparting the benefits and fun of fitness still earns acclaim today; in 2014, My Gym was named the best children's fitness center by Entrepreneur magazine.
My Gym's popularity stems from its signature program, which helps children from 6 weeks through 10 years of age develop their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. This development unfolds in the centers' fun classes, which teach kids fundamental skills through music, dance, games, sports, and more. In addition to boosting physical attributes such as balance, coordination, and strength, these classes also teach kids important social abilities, as well as boost their self-esteem.
The instructors at The Yoga Room of Redlands take time to build toward peak poses. They begin by modeling basic movements that warm bodies from the inside out. As muscles and connective tissues gain mobility, teachers introduce more-rigorous postures such as chair, which mimics the action of sitting down on Santa's lap. Students build up to the peak pose—a posture that's intensely challenging and rewarding—and then cool down through a sequence of curative, relaxing movements.
Throughout each of the Power Vinyasa–style classes, teachers tend to students as individuals, offering modifications and adjustments to make poses more comfortable. They also add upbeat music to brighten the mood.

Power, Strength, and Rope Burn classes use simple rope exercises to help tighten and tone bodies, and 50/50 classes blend cardio and strength training to create a well-balanced workout.

The inclusiveness of CrossFit is what drew owners Joe and Chris to CrossFit in the first place. They wanted to create a place where a sense of community could blossom, as well as fitness.
