Groundhog Divers' professional instructors equip students with underwater expertise in an academic setting and an indoor pool dedicated to dive-training. In four-hour Try Scuba Diving experiences, instructors grant students an introduction to diving and ease them directly into the dive pool without more than one coat of waterproof shellac. After a briefing, students experiment with basic gear including scuba regulators, buoyancy compensation devices, and depth and pressure gauges. Participants then submerge themselves to glean experience in breathing and moving underwater and to practice basic safety skills. As the classes only have six scuba divers or two whaleback divers at a time, students receive ample individual instruction.
