  • Wonderful World of Circus
Clowns juggle balls, trained poodles assemble into a line, and aerial gymnasts soar on the trapeze—and that’s all before the bride cuts the cake. Wonderful World of Circus’s artists unfurl high-flying spectacles at weddings, as well as at birthday parties and corporate events. From acrobats to tightrope walkers, their local and international performers showcase feats of derring-do at both private events and shows for the public, which combine acrobatics and dance to tell stories. Extending a hand through the fourth wall, Wonderful World of Circus brings kids and adults into the circus to learn these skills for themselves. Trapeze bars, silks, and rings hang down from the training centre's walls. Here, colourful mats and padded floors cushion students as professional circus performers guide them through moves like flipping through the air. Back on the ground, instructors teach other skills such as break dancing and juggling. Aside from its standard classes, Wonderful World of Circus also hosts birthday parties, children's camps, and school field trips.

  • Airborne Trampoline North
At Airborne Trampoline KW, leapers of all ages defy gravity on the centre's six Olympic-style trampolines. Custom mats and padding surround each trampoline to ensure safe landings. Trampoline coaches certified by Gymnastics Ontario and the NCCP watch over visiting jumpers and recreational classes of students aged 6 through adult as they leap, flip, and twirl through basic moves and advanced tricks. When not leading classes, coaches also host tryouts for an in-house competition team. The centre also provides decorated private rooms and basic catering services for birthday parties, during which children combine the joy of birthdays with the thrill of hugging clouds they've herded indoors.

  • Gymalaya
At Gymalaya, trainers introduce kids ages 18 months to 10 years to the fun and challenging elements of gymnastics. Two studios maintain kid-friendly workout zones marked by brightly coloured walls and equipment scaled down to accommodate tiny hands, huge imaginations, and average acrophobia. The gym's noncompetitive environment emphasizes fun; although more advanced classes teach difficult skills such as back handsprings and round-offs, all teachers maintain a focus on building strength and confidence.

  • Anti-Gravity Trampoline
The coaching staff at Anti-Gravity Trampoline trains students in the aerial arts on the indoor gym's floor exercise area, four olympic-size trampolines, and one double mini-trampoline. Coaches help beginners hone basic jumping skills and develop strength, flexibility, and coordination; they also teach more advanced manoeuvres that could help students evade the shadows sewn to their feet. When not leading classes, instructors conduct full- and half-day children's camps filled with trampoline practice, games, and crafts. Anti-Gravity Trampoline will open a new location in August with full air conditioning.

  • The Little Gym of London
In 1976, educator, musician, and kinesiologist Robin Wes longed for a children's gym that prioritized personal growth over competition. Unveiled at a time when physical-education classes pushed students to focus almost exclusively on winning, Robin's program was swiftly adopted and is now used in more than 300 Little Gyms worldwide. Robin still pens original music to accompany lessons, which engage whippersnappers aged 4 months to 12 years with gymnastics, dance, karate, and parent-and-child activities. Each of The Little Gym's classes introduces simple movements that sharpen motor skills and set brains whirring, allowing kids to progress at their own pace until they can finally build a computer out of macaroni and glitter. Staff members strive to build a base for lifelong social skills and self-assurance with each exercise, including activities rooted purely in fun, such as summer camps or birthday parties, which helped The Little Gym to earn title of #1 Birthday Chain in Parents Magazine.
