Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
We believe that the Pole & Aerial Arts is
more than just a fitness class, it is an overall experience.
Our classes are fun, challenging and progressive, and our vibe is welcoming, encouraging, inspiring and supportive by both the teachers and the students. The overall experience is quite addicting!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I was a childhood dancer & gymnast until I retired at 18. I knew something was missing in my life. At the age of 44, I
took my 1st Pole Dancing Class. I knew I was home. I became passionate about every aspect of this movement and I wanted to share this world with other woman.
What do you love most about your job?
Assisting our students in becoming empowered, confident and strong, making new friends that have become like family, watching other woman encourage and inspire each other, and helping individuals to break their boundaries and
discover themselves, through the art of pole
Further Fitness trainers Jamie Dreyer and Maribel Torres have made it their mission to "dispel . . . myths and old-wives tales" about fitness. Inspired by their backgrounds in youth sports, exercise-science studies, and a chance encounter with fitness godfather Jack LaLanne, they have created an effective, challenging, and exciting program focused on the fundamentals of boosting metabolisms and muscle mass. Their stripped-down studio builds bodies with simple tools, such as kettlebells, battling ropes, and sandbags. To stimulate the cardiovascular system, Jamie and Maribel might have students haul a weight sled and pull in equal amounts of physiology and anatomy knowledge. Sessions are held in semiprivate and group settings, and an athletic-strength program devotes itself exclusively to training high-school-level athletes and any toddlers that can run a decent 40-yard dash or live in the requisite angst in which high schoolers often live.
Unlike fashion trends, one-hit-wonders, and tattoos that say “I voted for Nixon,” flat stomachs and well-defined muscles never go out of style. Fueled by Joseph Pilates's core-focused philosophy and signature workout regimen, the certified instructors at A Body in Balance Pilates Studio strive to keep abs and limbs toned, leading group classes, private sessions within a mirrored studio stocked with row after row of reformer machines and other equipment, and preparing new instructors for BASI Pilates certification. When not helping beginner- and advanced-level students increase their muscle definition and balance, the staff spends its time and money donating to national and local organizations such as Three Square, Positively Kids, Woman’s Club of Summerlin and local schools.
At CrossFit Total Empowerment, instructors adopt an inclusive approach to fitness. It deviates from traditional workout regimens by using ever-changing sequences of high-intensity, functional exercises. Each class is structured around the sorts of actions that people perform in everyday life—such as running, lifting, and climbing stairs—albeit with a much greater emphasis on intensity. The workouts are scalable to any level, so they prove challenging for competitive athletes as well as casual exercisers. Attendees push themselves at their own pace while swinging kettlebells, performing deadlifts, jumping rope, and using hula-hoops made of concrete. Bolstered by encouragement from coaches and their fellow students, customers increase their strength and stamina, and over time, can improve their speed, agility, and flexibility.
The sultry air in Hot Yoga 4 You Carle Place's studio sinks deep into muscles, wrapping around limbs and permeating joints, warming bodies in preparation for 60 minutes of spectacularly challenging yoga. Students of all fitness levels either learn or perfect the 26 poses and two breathing exercises as an instructor guides each standing or seated motion with demonstration, verbal cues, and physical adjustments. While the intense heat may cause new students to feel a little lightheaded and long for the return of January during their first class, over time, practicing in elevated temperatures helps safely loosen muscles for balances, twists, and binds while expelling harmful toxins from the body through sweating.
The trainers and health experts at Personal 1 Fitness push exercisers to achieve their fitness goals with programs that include one-on-one attention, continual tracking and evaluations, and personalized workout routines. The team members, who are well-versed in disciplines such as kickboxing, strength training, and martial arts, devise 30-minute workouts that combine strength repetitions and heart-pumping cardio tailored to each client’s fitness level. An onsite licensed nutritionist also helps shrink waistlines and feed muscles the proper nourishment with tips on developing healthier eating habits.
