The Chopped Leaf

Unlike money and newborns, many of the healthy ingredients featured on The Chopped Leaf's menu of salads, wraps, and sandwiches do grow on trees. At the health-minded eatery, the staff fills bowls and wraps with eight chef-designed salads as well as build-your-own combinations, whipped up quickly for dining in or taking out. They mix spinach with crisp apples, juicy oranges, and creamy feta cheese, topping flavourful medleys with filling proteins such as grilled prawns or smoked tofu. The Chopped Leaf also improves upon the basics with flavoured Chopped water, cool iced water imbued with chunks of real fruit.

The Groupon Guide to: Valentine's Day Leftovers

For some people, the most difficult thing about Valentine's Day is deciding what to do with all the leftovers. Here are some suggestions of what to do with the day-after detritus:

  • Melt down chocolates and put them in little ghost-shaped molds to start stocking up for Halloween.

  • Once roses start to wilt and dry out, use their thorns to make devil horns for a naughty dog or precocious toddler.

  • Diamond shavings are glitter.

  • Recycle a Valentine's Day card by crossing out the part that says "Lisa, I will always love you. You are my angel and my strength" and writing "Deepest sympathies on the anniversary of your terrible comeuppance!"

  • Leftover candy hearts? More like delicious croutons!

Sweet croutons, this salad is good!
